Malvern Community ForestA FOREST FOR ALLMission Statement:"Malvern Community Forest's mission is to establish and maintain a woodland and centre for the educational, health and environmental benefit of the local and wider community, providing ecological and craft knowledge, recreational places and areas for the conservation of indigenous flora and fauna, including threatened, rare and endangered species.
Can you helpYou can become a member of Malvern Community Forest. Individual membership is £5 per year and corporate membership is £50 per year We welcome help from anyone with our campaign – with funds, help or advice. Do you know of any land we may be able to aquire? Small donations from individuals will help to “unlock” larger sums by providing matching funding for grant applications from other bodies. Planting schemesThe wood planted with Oak, Ash, Sweet Chestnut and Hazel will have long term sustainability and strategic benefit. It will create a massive natural material resource for construction timber, timber for furniture and garden products and also could be a managed source of biofuels for local people. Other areas will have wide rides and glades with less productive species that have greater wildlife value such as Spindle, Wild service tree, Holly, Field Maple and Dog wood. There will be areas planted with trees and shrubs that produce nuts and berries that will be used as a future food source. |
